UPDATE 6/9/18: Bossa Studios has announced that Surgeon Simulator CPR, an enhanced Nintendo Switch version of its popular medical mishap extravaganza, will launch next Thursday, September 13th.
Former Valve scribe Chet Faliszek, best known for his work on the Portal and Left 4 Dead games, along with the Half-Life 2 episodic expansions, has joined Bossa Studios.
In April 2013 superstar YouTuber PewDiePie played Surgeon Simulator, a game about clumsily performing operations, and made a video about it. It's had 11.5m views.
The doctor is in! Sadly, the doctor in question is Ian Higton, and he's going to make a terrible mess of your chest cavity.
Surgery Simulator: Anniversary Edition will be released on PlayStation 4 next week - Wednesday, 13th August (12th August if you're in the US).
Prices: $12.99 / €10.99 / £8.99.
Anniversary Edition combines the best bits of Surgeon Simulator's Steam and iPad releases, including eye and teeth transplants, trolley mode and so on. There's also talk of an exclusive new mode that developer Bossa Studios isn't quite ready to reveal yet.
Doctor training game Surgeon Simulator is "soon" making its way to PS4, developer Bossa has announced.
Ridiculous games are all the rage these days, but way back in the mists of time (this time last year basically) it felt like Surgeon Simulator was blazing a trail. A mad game where you would operate on a patient by waving a doctor's arms around like drunk prosthetics in an operating theatre packed with dangerous objects, Surgeon Simulator was almost impossible to play or watch without losing yourself to hysterics.
UPDATE 13/03/2014: We've heard back from Bossa about Surgeon Simulator's multiplayer. According to the developer, this new mode has two players compete with each other to complete a surgery the fastest.
