Doom 64 is a pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal on PC and consoles

To hell with it.

Following the announcement of Doom Eternal and Doom 64's release being pushed back to next year, id Software has revealed Doom 64 is a pre-order bonus on Xbox, PlayStation 4 and PC.

It all releases on 20th March, though if you want it on Nintendo Switch on this date you'll need to purchase it outright. Switch players can still get it for free by pre-ordering Doom Eternal however, you just won't be able to play either until Eternal arrives on the platform at a later date (which is yet to be announced).

If you've already pre-ordered Doom Eternal, don't worry, you're eligible for the free Doom 64 digital download too.

id Software has even released a lovely new trailer to celebrate the news.

Before it's announcement during September's Nintendo Direct, Doom 64 was spotted back in July, making Wesley Yin-Poole all nostalgic:

"Ah, Doom 64. In the absence of a PC, my console-fuelled video game childhood was left with Doom 64. But, improbably, Doom 64 was great."
