Team 17 and publisher Sega Europe have released a playable demo of Worms Forts Under Siege, giving you the chance to see how the second 3D Worms game is shaping up. The 145MB demo is available now from Eurofiles.
Unlike Worms 3D, which was pretty much a direct conversion from 2D to 3D in a lot of ways, Forts Under Siege makes significant changes to the formula, introducing a sort of fort versus fort dynamic that has you thinking about your surroundings a lot more and vying for control of tactically significant control points - as well as blowing people up with explosive hamsters and the like.
This week's demo consists of a single player level set in ancient Egypt, and a multiplayer map set in Greece. The full game will also feature oriental and medieval settings - and is due out on PC, PS2 and Xbox later this year. You can find out lots more about it by reading our E3 impressions.
