Apart from allowing it to pay off its bar tab and that, Konami's end-of-year financial report also brought news that Metal Gear Solid 4 is scheduled for release within the publisher's next fiscal year.

In the bit of its fancy PDF entitled, "Outlook for fiscal year ending March 31, 2008", the words go: "New titles will also continue to be released for game consoles in widespread use, along with the long-awaited Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for PS3."

There have been rumours kicking about that MGS4 will end up on other consoles, but for now they're just rumours.

The game - the series' first on next-gen - puts protagonist Solid Snake (or is it, etc.) in the middle of two futuristic armies, who will react to him differently depending on what he gets up to. It features all sorts of fancy new enemies and stealth techniques, including the ability to hide in plain sight using a camouflage suit.
