The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary Amiibo launched today and Nintendo revealed the effects these will have when implemented into Breath of the Wild.

The 8-bit model of Link will reward players with a selection of barrels, each containing randomly assorted goodies like rupees.

Ocarina of Time Link will make a random assortment of meat rain down from the sky. Toon Link will similarly see fish fall from the heavens.

The Wind Waker version of Zelda will reward players with random plants, used as ingredients in cooking.

Last night we saw some new footage of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, including what appears to be the first images of Zelda, though we only see her from the neck down.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will launch in early 2017 on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
