One of Rare's best-loved franchises has made a triumphant return in a brand new video game.


No, we're not talking about Conker in Project Spark.

Nope, we're not talking about Playtonic's Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor Yooka-Laylee, either.

We're talking about Battletoads, of course, and their amphibian resurrection in the Xbox One edition of Shovel Knight.

But you can't simply wander onto the game's main menu and expect to see a knot of toads, battle ready - oh no. You'll have to go searching for the Easter egg.

It's all a little fiddly, but who better for the job than famed naturist Sir Ian Higtonborough himself:
