Sledgehammer co-founder bemoans Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare leak

"That sucks. A real bummer. Thanks a lot."

Sledgehammer Games co-founder Glen Schofield has spoken out about a recent leak of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare that saw a number of unannounced details revealed ahead of the game's official release next week.

Yesterday afternoon unannounced information on the shooter emerged from a live stream on Twitch.

A user called Anfuny29 broadcasted Advanced Warfare gameplay, and Call of Duty YouTubers were quick to pounce on it before the stream was shut down.

One, called TmarTn, picked up on the DNA Bomb, a 30 Gunstreak. As MP1st points out, this can only be achieved if you get 30 kills in one life.

The DNA Bomb kills enemies on the opposing team and, once detonated, leaves behind a green mist that spreads throughout the battlefield before dissipating.

Meanwhile, the option to turn on and off Paintball Effects was unearthed, and the full list of weapon camouflage patterns has also been revealed.

Video game leaks are nothing new, of course, especially this close to release. But a clearly upset Schofield was not impressed.

"We took 3 years 2 make a game," he tweeted last night.

"Kept it quiet 4 the fans & it has to be stolen & leaked a week b4. That sucks. A real bummer. Thanks a lot."

One follower suggested the leak satisfied a need from players for more information on the game, but Schofield countered that by claiming the code was stolen at some point along Activision's normally tight supply chain.

"I realize that but stealing and releasing is not the answer," he said.

Then: "It is a big deal to us because discovery while playing is part of the fun. It will all be good, just saying."
