UPDATE: First screenshots of Drakengard 3 lie below, as revealed on the game's new official site.
ORIGINAL STORY: The developer of cult hit Deadly Premonition is working on a third Drakengard game, to be released on PlayStation 3.
Access Games has promised that Drakengard 3, known as Drag-on Dragoon 3 in its native Japan, will continue the series' action RPG antics.
Development is being headed by Nier director Yoko Taro, who helmed the original Drakengard back in 2003.
The main character, Zero, is a busty white-haired lady with a flower growing from her right eye. She has an artificial arm and is in a relationship "with a number of men", Famitsu revealed (scans of which have been translated by Gematsu).
Zero has a sister, One, who may also be playable.
The more blood you spill, the more powerful you become. You also become caked in the red stuff. Levels will be both ground-based and aerial, on the back of dragons.
There's no launch date yet for the game in Japan and no word on a European release.
It's been a long time since we last saw the Drakengard series. The previous instalment originally soared onto PlayStation 2 back in 2005. A Western release followed around a year later.
