Zen Pinball 2 PS3, Vita release date announced

Plus, new mystery table based on a PopCap "mega hit" teased.

Zen Pinball 2 launches on PlayStation 3 and PS Vta on 4th September 2012, developer Zen Studios has announced.

That's a Tuesday, when games go live on the US PlayStation Store. Fingers crossed it goes live in Europe a day later, on Wednesday 5th September, when our PlayStation Store updates.

Zen Pinball 2 has some cross-platform functionality, such as shared global leadervoards, online friend challenges and tournaments. The pinball simulation launches with 26 tables. Any Zen Pinball 2 purchase gets you both the PS3 and Vita versions of the game at no additional charge.

New tables will be released regularly on the Store. And today Zen teased a mystery table based on one of PopCap's "mega hits". Plants vs. Zombies? Temple Run? Peggle? Bejewelled? It will be announced at PAX Prime later this month and will also release for Xbox Live Arcade game Pinball FX2, on 5th September.
