Pokémon Black and White 2 still bossing Japanese charts

But Level-5 adventure Time Travellers fails to clock up the numbers.

Pokémon sequels Black 2 and White 2 remain top of the Japanese software chart, selling another 122,242 copies combined between July 9th and 15th.

The duo have now sold 2.3 million after three weeks on sale. That's a healthy figure, but it's worth remembering that the original Black and White sold 2.6 million copies in just two days.

There was less good news for Professor Layton developer Level-5, whose Tokyo-set adventure Time Travellers sold around than 9000 copies each on 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

The developer had high hopes for the game, previously stating it wanted the suspense-filled thriller to become a "500,000 to one million" seller.

Mediocre Vita shooter Resistance: Burning Skies fared worse still, shifting just 5138 copies in its opening week.

3DS hardware figures fell to their lowest in several months, likely due to the impending launch of the 3DS XL. Nintendo's super-sized handheld arrives in Japan later this month.
