Thundercats platformer announced for DS

Ho!

Recently-rebooted '80s cartoon Thundercats is coming to the DS this Summer as a 2D platformer, publisher Namco Bandai has announced.

As detailed over on Siliconera, it's being developed by Aspect Digital. You remember them - they made Deep Duck Trouble Starring Donald Duck on the Sega Master System.

It's a fairly straightforward side-scroller in which you take control of head man-mog Lion-O as he attempts to see off Mumm-Ra and his gang of no-good goons.

Other familiar faces also appear as assist characters. Just tap their faces on the bottom screen and they'll briefly appear on-screen and unleash a colourful special attack.

Have a gander at the screenshots below for more detail.
