UPDATE: The game's also coming to Xbox Live Arcade and Tegra 2 mobile devices, according to a press release that's just gone out, which also offers a late 2011 release window.

ORIGINAL STORY: Lunatic top-down racer Zombie Driver is making the jump from PC to PlayStation 3, Sony has announced.

Developed by indie outfit EXOR Studios and first released on PC back in 2009, the game sees you speeding around a post-apocalyptic wasteland mowing down hoards of the undead.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the PSN version is twice as long as the original, "adding epic boss fights, demolition missions, new enemies and special vehicles such as a fire truck, bulldozer and even a tank, as well as many more gameplay enhancements."

The camera system has also been refined, a level mini-map added and a new "recharging afterburner" included to help you out of tough spots.

As well as the core single player campaign, there's also Blood Race mode, which offers various multiplayer race events, while Slaughter mode drops you in an arena and tasks you with seeing off endless waves of zombies.

It's currently without a firm release date - check out the announcement trailer below while you're waiting.
