A bit of stealth, a bit of gadget, a bit of beat-em-up. Just how the Dark Knight should be. On that basis, want.

But will they probe the psycho-sexual intricacies of Batman's compulsion to do what he does in a faithful adaptation of the relatively action-free graphic novel? Inquiring minds want to know.

nice trailer - so glad they got kevin conroy and mark hamil to do the voice overs - just keeping everything crossed that this turns out to be a decent game

    Very cool :D

Was that Mark Hamil I heard as the Joker, I truely hope so?

I'm assuming there will be a Scarecrow section of Arkham, his Fear gas should give us plenty of insight into the inner motivations of Batman

    Hype status: guarded.

Having the two best Animated Series voice actors helps.

Great trailer - loads of potential!

It actually looks pretty decent.... for everything except the gameplay concepts. If the gameplay is any good, I'm sold.

What have these guys made previously?

I likey. I'm not expecting it to change the world, but the atmosphere and look are top notch, so as long as the mechanics of the gameplay are there, then so am I.

Just need to read the book now!

From what I'm seeing, it has very little to do with the Morrison comic. And thank God, because the latter is possibly the single most overrated Batman story there is.
  • guernican #11 3 years ago

Mmmm... it's certainly a tricky graphic novel to understand. Not one for the under-5s, I'll "grant" you.
  • Apostle #12 3 years ago

    Sweet!

Conroy and Hamil too! I'll play this just for the cutscenes alone, even if the gameplay isn't all that.
  • Yossarian #13 3 years ago

guernican, while you were busy 'understanding' the intricacies of Morrison's 'edgy' sub-Freudian gibberish the rest of us were enjoying ourselves reading Batman comics that didn't pander to a pseudo-literate audience that would be better served reading actual books by people who can actually write.

But by all means go ahead and type up another patronising response; I'll be in the bathroom jerking over a collection of Larkin poems. Which is probably was Morrison was doing when he shat out Arkham Asylum

@Olemak: Rocksteady Studios' previous, and only other work, was Urban Chaos: Riot Response for the PStwo and X-Box, one of the best FPS's of the last generation.

    I'd love a next/current gen sequel.

Between this and the Riddick remake, 2009 is going to be a good year for the genre it seems. What genre I don't know, but those two definitely belong together.
  • The5oclockHero #16 3 years ago

i hope the beat em up bits arent as terrible as they could be; id like it to be more a stealth detective kinda game =)
  • BigE0n #17 3 years ago

Glad someone mention Riddick cause this looks like it may have taken some inspiration from it and that to me is fantastic! Fingers crossed both turn out well. Also does anyone else think they have modelled batman on Michael Ketons port rail the face resembles his (although he seems more buffed in the game....

And I've no doubt you "ignored" me after that searing critical indictment, safe in the knowledge that you wouldn't hear anything else that upset you, Yossarian.

Personally, I try to approach these things with a sense of humour. I recommend that you try it. It certainly helps when you're reading books by people who can "actually write".
  • Lukus #19 3 years ago

"Well done" Geurnican. You've "successfully" misused "quotation" "marks".
  • guernican #20 3 years ago

Oddly, Lukus, the alleged misuse of "quotation marks" is one of those 'misconceptions' held by truly stupid people. But it's sweet to see you leaping to the defence of one of your little friends.
