Will Wright backing McCain for presidency
But most game developers prefer Obama.
A bit of digging by Game Politics has revealed most high-profile developers are backing Barack Obama in the forthcoming US election.
However, Spore creator Will Wright is a John McCain man - having contributed USD 3000 to his campaign. That's according to publicly available records, which also show Activision boss Bobby Kotick has given McCain USD 2300.
Those contributing to the Democratic campaign include silver-haired EA fox John Riccitiello, executives from Take-Two and Rockstar, Sony Online Entertainment boss John Smedley, Ultima creator Richard Garriott and Valve's Gabe Newell.
Topping the list is Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos, who's given Barack Obama a whopping USD 32,900. So if he wins, Guitar Hero will have been responsible for the election of America's first black president! Sort of.

What?! That is just a weird statement.
I'm not a McCain backer but how can you justify your statement?
McCain is somehow going to personally end lives? He's not even president (hopefully won't be) yet you're accusing him of possibly ending thousands of peoples lives...

After the DRM bullshit... seems like he wants to cement his position as a knob.
/warning politcics ahead
It's a real shame tbh. If not for this election and having to get into bed (so to speak) with the current administration... I actually liked McCain, a bit. He didn't play ball with his party evangelicals and seemed to have a conscience.
Now he's in shake hands with fucktards and kiss babies mode.
Shame. now I have no time for him.
Barrack Obama may or may not be just another washington suit, who will take his orders from the Money men who really run the US... time will tell... but to me he comes across as a rational and intelligent sort, the sort of guy you could have dialogue with rather than the 'might is right so fuck you' attitude of the Republicans.
anyway...
/politics off.
/game on.

His life overview isn't pretty reading. Power hungry opportunist who puts himself above anything.

Unfortunately whoever the Americans vote for has a huge impact on us and the world. If only we could get away with not caring.

Thank you, I do try to be as objective as possible when it comes to talking politics! Nothing like a bit of political incorrectness to start the day!

Well he's a neo-con so he's going to continue their world-domination agenda after Dubbya is gone so yeah, you can start counting the bodies from day one if he makes it.
I also think he's damaged-goods mentally/emotionally. I thought he was desperate, not to mention frightening, in the debate vs Obama. Obama disappointed me somewhat but at least he didn't scare me ...
One thing's for sure, it's never been more likely that the next US president will die in office. One from natural causes, the other not so much ...

Who gives a flying who supports who, really? A lot of people, judging by these comments.
Christ, people. I've enjoyed Spore, despite the HOOOOOORRIBLE DRM and the fact that Wright must be a Republican. That doesn't mean I'd vote for McCain. I also like a couple of U2 tracks, but I would still choke Bono to death, given the opportunity.
