Van Damme Street Fighter for Blu-ray News

Capcom has warned us that the 1994 Street Fighter film is coming out on Blu-ray.
Street Fighter: Extreme Edition will be out in US shops from 10th February 2009, which is around the same time that new film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li launches there.
But let's go back to the '90s, when Jean-Claude Van Damme took a starring role as Guile, and Kylie Minogue sprung up as Cammy. By all accounts the live action film was bobbins, but will return in 1080p with 5.1 sound nonetheless, according the Capcom blog.
There are also numerous bonus features: trailers for SF IV game and anime; a Making Of documentary, out-takes and deleted scenes; storyboard and videogame sequences; and miscellaneous Cyberwalk, Archive and My Scenes features.
There's commentary from film director Steven de Souza, too, plus BD Live and My Scenes bits and bobs.
We'll probably buy it.

And there I was thinking I'd just wasted £300 on a PS3, Damn, was I wrong or what, this makes it worth every penny, I mean, who cares if the systems sucks balls, as long as I can watch the worst ever (and that's saying something) Van Damme movie on Blu-ray, my life is soo fuckin complete!!!111!

No, you see, there are some films that are so bad that they're actually funny/good in a lame kind of way, Street Fighter was unfortunately not in this category. While I understand that people have different tastes I still feel quite justified in claiming that if you enjoy this movie on any level, you are in fact, mentally retarded.

This film is ace, best comedy of 1994 along with The Mask.

I don't get it tbh. The denizens of EG are the first to whinge and moan about how Hollywood screws up film adaptations of books/games/etc yet the majority of you seem to secretly revel in the utter turd they spew out (as long as it has a few gay icons in it). Even the Dead or Alive movie was better than SF, and that's really saying something...

I personally dislike this film, just cheesy with extra cheese on top.
For Van Damme i prefer Time Cop, Cyborg or that one which i cannot remember (one of his early ones where he goes to fight in a competition)... funny thing with many Van Damme movies is that most of the films are the same. :D I agree there are many many better films that deserve being released before this, but I had a think why they were doing this and can only assume they look at their back catalogue and see which movies were released first on DVD and kinda release those first as people (fans) of certain films will more likely buy. Need the Alien(s) films and Lord of the Rings on Blu-ray first imho :) |

No problem, nibble on your chocky popcorn, and watch Power Rangers too for all I care.
