"No! You've lost your balls!"

Capcom has warned us that the 1994 Street Fighter film is coming out on Blu-ray.

Street Fighter: Extreme Edition will be out in US shops from 10th February 2009, which is around the same time that new film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li launches there.

But let's go back to the '90s, when Jean-Claude Van Damme took a starring role as Guile, and Kylie Minogue sprung up as Cammy. By all accounts the live action film was bobbins, but will return in 1080p with 5.1 sound nonetheless, according the Capcom blog.

There are also numerous bonus features: trailers for SF IV game and anime; a Making Of documentary, out-takes and deleted scenes; storyboard and videogame sequences; and miscellaneous Cyberwalk, Archive and My Scenes features.

There's commentary from film director Steven de Souza, too, plus BD Live and My Scenes bits and bobs.

We'll probably buy it.

No, you see, there are some films that are so bad that they're actually funny/good in a lame kind of way, Street Fighter was unfortunately not in this category. I personally dislike this film, just cheesy with extra cheese on top.

For Van Damme i prefer Time Cop, Cyborg or that one which i cannot remember (one of his early ones where he goes to fight in a competition)... funny thing with many Van Damme movies is that most of the films are the same.

I agree there are many many better films that deserve being released before this, but I had a think why they were doing this and can only assume they look at their back catalogue and see which movies were released first on DVD and kinda release those first as people (fans) of certain films will more likely buy.

Need the Alien(s) films and Lord of the Rings on Blu-ray first imho

Van Damme is awesome, I've got a lot of love for the guy.
Being 26 means I grew up watching all of his ''classics'', Kickboxer, Bloodsport, AWOL, Cyborg and Universal Soldier were all fantastic back in the day, I've probably seen each of them 40-60 times each
Street Fighter was kind of terrible, the Mortal Kombat film kicked its ass.
Although the greatest part is when the camera focuses on VD's gigantic, metre wide, American flag tatooed bicep. Just after he's uppercutted Bison. It literally fills the screen for 5 seconds. Brilliant.
