UK chart: 2010 FIFA World Cup is top

SSFIV in second, GOW Collection 10th.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa game has raced to the top of the UK all-formats chart. PS3 sales were greater than on Xbox 360 by one per cent (48 to 47).

Super Street Fighter IV debuted in second this week.

Those two newcomers knocked Just Dance to third and previous leader Splinter Cell: Conviction to fourth. Behind were Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Debutant God of War Collection rounded the chart out in 10th.

The dreadful Iron Man 2 videogame entered in 20th, a few places above a resurgent Mirror's Edge in 25th.

Nintendo's new DS game WarioWare: Do It Yourself struggled, surprisingly, and placed 7th in the DS chart.

Mirror's Edge is hanging on? That's good. A polished up sequel would be nice.
  • Mkwone #3 2 years ago

Mirrors edge was selling for £3 at Game, thats most likly why it's in the chart.

I bet FIFA world cup is also in the best selling pre-owned next week as well. TAT.

One percent better sales on ps3, strange considering install base of the 360 and apparant underuse of the ps3 as a games console. I'd say its all even enough these days in europe and people just talk shit.

Heavy Rain is down to 40. I see me buying the game soon... :)

Aliens vs Predator still selling good.

Sega should certaintly make sure that more games from these two franchises are being made.

If GOW Collection had been released before GOW 3 like everywhere else, it would've sold much better. I like a lot of others in Europe imported mine.

I'd expect that any of the people that bought the GOW collection and don't own GOW 3 will do soon.

    'Dreadful' Iron Man 2?

Why did you give it 5/10 then? That's average.

The way people go on around here, 8/10 is 'dreadful'.

I managed to take advantage of a trade in offer on World Cup 2010 so went for it. I have to say, most of what pissed me off about Fifa 10 has been fixed. I haven't touched Fifa since friday and quite honestly can't see myself returnning to it until late summer when the new season starts. The gameplay feels dated, and that is a HUGE compliment to how well World Cup plays. For once, it isn't just a rushed tie in. There are major gameplay improvements and the online World Cup mode is fantastic and very addictive. I highly reccomend anyone interested in football to buy it.

Not really a surprise. But to tell the truth, I buy football games once every three years if that. Did FIFA 10 signicantly improve upon FIFA 09 to justify buying a new game? no. Same with this one. Don't get me wrong, it's probably a great game, but would you pay £40 for a game barely changed from a game you bought 6 months ago?

Good to see Yakuza 3 charting again.

The situation between PS3/360 is even in UK ,in the rest of Europe the PS3 is washing the floor with the 360.
