Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 demo up

PS3 and 360 practice their swings.

EA has released a PS3 and Xbox 360 demo for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10.

On offer are a couple of holes from the US Open plus a taster of the Tournament Challenge mode using the 17th hole at The Players Stadium Course - TPC Sawgrass, whatever that is.

Tiger Woods arrives this year with dynamic weather conditions that affect gameplay, plus new commentators and a new Practice mode.

It's unlikely to stun, but the series scores consistently and highly each year. The game launches on PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360 on 3rd July.

The Wii version, incidentally, has Wii MotionPlus controls.

"using the 17th hole at The Players Stadium Course - TPC Sawgrass, whatever that is."

Sounds like the 17th hole of a golf course in America to me...

Really liked last year's installment so I will try this - but doubt EA have improved much to cause me to buy the new version ;)

    bigo

It's a news article, right? On here you can tell the difference by seeing if there is a big score out of ten at the bit of the screen closest to your keyboard.

    You're welcome.

Its good they tell it like it is.

Good to hear they got rid of the commentators from the last one - 09 was the best one since 04 but was brought down by some fucking awful commentry. I know you can turn it off but when its great in every game up to 09, why did they change it?

Either way, looking forward to it

Got to love that "Platoon"-esque cover. What about "Yes, we can"?

Unless it's got some serious amount of FMV in it... 2GB for a bloody demo?!? (source: Xbox.com Marketplace)

I thought they might not use the "10" suffix this year considering that this is about the squillionth sports game of its kind from EA. (instead using 2010)

Golf you say? Where's my cricket game, Mooresey?!

I like the 3 click thing. Reminds me of the old golf games from the 90s. Or has that been in the recent ones? I've not played since '06.

"Good to see the reviewer has a keen interest in golf games or the sport itself."
"I just get tired of people constantly critising on this website."

This has a much bigger following in Europe than people think if you look at the stats for EA there are a lot of active users,
but it is understandable if it gets far less attention than FIFA as that is the national sport after fishing?
The dynamic weather is going to kick ass I hope they have a screensaver mode on the high def versions.
If the Wii motion plus does not make this a top ten nothing will.
Maybe they can put some fishing on the courses.

had a hit with the demo... the last one i have is 08, putting mechanic seems a bit different. And the tourneys look to have a live updates feature so u know how your competitors are going. So PGA mode seems like an improvement.
its not a title i ever buy every year either but if the tournament play is more realistic then i'll probably pick it up.

Downloaded last night and really is there that much of a change from last year. I know this is a money maker for EA but really the TW franchise should only be every two years.

1.7Gb for minor cosmetic changes. Think I'll give it a miss.

Making the conditions variable is about the biggest thing to happen in five years,
(it may be invisible but there should be new swing dynamics and models to take account of the conditions),
the club lengths are supposed to be much more realistic, as you can drive over 400m in 09.
I hope you cannot birdy every hole on this version.

The Tiger woods series needs a total over haul imo. Its the same old same old over and over again and because of this i have lost all interest in any "new" additions to the series.

Yawn - same old, same old.
