TF2 master-maps offered to modders News

PC Xbox 360 News by Robert Purchese

16 June, 2009

Valve has updated the Source developer kits to include 10 original Team Fortress 2 maps.

Beginner modders can use these as foundations to build on, while more experienced modders may relish the opportunity to explore professional work.

The maps offered are Lumberyard, Ravine, Badlands, Dustbowl, Granary, Gravelpit, 2Fort, Badwater, Goldrush, and Hydro.

Valve plans to get more TF content into the Source developer kit in the future, according to the TF2 blog - including maps and character models.

There are maps other than 2Fort? Wow, who knew :)

Nice of them, should see some interesting variants of classic maps.

Cool cool. Haven't looked at a map editor in YONKS, but I'd be tempted to have a peek at these!

The very first apartment level is available to mess around with in Hammer.

I doubt they will release the rest, since they are probably a bit pre-occupied with you-know-what.
