Star Trek Online back on track?
You! What planet is this?
The Star Trek Online website has reappeared, promising that something or other is "coming soon".
This MMO adaptation of the science fiction classic was presumed dead after original developer Perpetual Entertainment abandoned ship in January.
Some observers suggested that City of Heroes brain Cryptic Studios would steer it back on course. But this seems unlikely since they revealed Cryptic's busy working on new cel-shaded MMO, Champions Online.
Time will tell.
What are we looking at, a 20th Century Rome?

But I'm hoping it's back on track. Heck, just publish World of Warcraft and rename all the abilities and I'd be happy. Arcnae Shot? No, that's Phaser Attack! Wing Clip no more, it's now Disable Alien Lifeform.

And more star trekky quests would be things like "Mediate 10 planetary disputes" or "Scan 47 nebulae"

Seriously though, anything to promote Star Trek is good. I just don't think the games for it have done it justice, so hopefully this will.
Star Trek is the mother of them all, everything else seems to be a fake/copy/boring.
Star Trek is the only one that seems to have a 'message' behind all the phasers and rubber masked aliens and that's what distinguishes it, especially with The Next Generation series and films.

The first Elite Force game was pretty good. Although possibly not that Star Trek in nature as you seemingly killed everything that wasn't wearing a Starfleet uniform.

Haha, I remember that one.
Good old Picard just won't be broken by torture, eh?
Star Trek online sounds cool. As long as they take a page from Guild Wars books, but I really don't see that happening.
