Black Rock's destructive racer.

Disney's just given scenery-destroying racer Split/Second a date of May 2010.

Black Rock's impressive futuristic racing game should be fresh in your mind after Eurogamer TV's expose on the game earlier today, of course. If you haven't watched it then you can do so now.

Split/Second's a fast and furious racer from the maker's of Pure, the key gameplay differentiator being Power Plays - charged special moves that quite literally bring the house down, or whichever piece of gigantic scenery you happen to be whizzing past.

Biggest surprise of the expo for me. Played through the demo about 5 times. Preferred it to both of the last two Burnouts. Also a day one purchase.

Played it at the Expo and was surprised hwo good it was, even though the bloke standing at the booth couldnt tell me how old the build of the game was.

It's shocking how Bizzare Creation's Blur thinks it can compete with this, why the hell they didn't release Blur months ago to avoid clashing with this is beyond me, it's like dreamworks holding back one of their films and releasing it alongside the latest pixar flick, its insanity.

I suspect Bizzare are bluffing with an emty hand on Blur,I can't see the appeal of cars and guns and can't think of a game its worked on.Mowing pedestrians ( not zombies ) down in cars Carmageddon style is much more fun.they should put that game out for XBLA Steam and PSN.

Played it at the EXPO thought it was one note, one lovely looking note but dull once you got into the lead. Blur has 20 cars racing so for me this should be more fun

You realise flatout wasnt blackrock right ?

However, the vastly underrated crash and burn was... hope its a good online as that was !
