Flower to cost just over six quid in Europe News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

2 February, 2009

Sony has told Eurogamer that attractive PSN game Flower will cost GBP 6.29 when released next Thursday 12th February.

Flower costs USD 9.99 across the pond, which left us expecting a slightly higher conversion, so this is pleasing. And so is snow.

Flower - developed by thatgamecompany of flOw fame - has players restore vibrant colours to the dreary dream-worlds of city flowers. To do this, petals must be steered around on the wind and clattered into other flowers, sending up more petals to join the cause.

The effect is rather pretty and quite serene, as our hands-on impressions of Flower point out. Look out for our review soon.

Does that mean with the current exchange rate we get the better deal? Yay!

Well done Sony Europe \o/

Definitely in the "I'll have a punt at it" price range.

Seeing as you've cottoned on to the Euro/US pricing discrepancies, is there any chance of re-examining the Buzz! DLC prices?

Buying your gf a game for valentines, rings strongly of homer buying a bowling ball for marge's birthday.

Romance isnt quite dead yet!

Makes a nice change.

Now how about you Burnout Paradise? £24.99 vs $20.00? Come on.

Nice to see some other people like the snow, rather than just using it as an excuse not to come into work.

I mean okay, so I've come into work and am still sitting on Eurogamer all day, but you don't see me blaming the snow for anything do you?

I'd rather not have travelled into work, and work from home, then be silly enough to journey into central london and then suffer the travesty of trying to get home in rush hour. Me at home, warm and cosy, you at work - I win :)

Surely the prices would have less to do with the Dollar-Euro conversion rate and more to do with the Yen-Euro conversion rate, what with Sony being, you know, Japanese?

Or more likely nothing at all to do with conversion rates at all as Sony has entirely different divisions in Europe, North America,Japan and other regions each of which operate independently of one another and set entirely different price points based on the regions they operate in. I don't see prices changing all that much because of exchange rates.

@sneetch

I was listing them as two separate things i.e. You've solved one problem now how about solving this similar problem (The VFM of Buzz! question packs)

I wasn't inferring that the latter was caused by the former.

Excellent price, consider that a sale.

Looking forward to this a lot, I think it will nicely offset the violence of Kills One Two :D

Good stuff! But please don't let Dan do the review - I hate to think what "flowery prose" he'd come up with for this one after Braid! ;)

Yay, nice price. An easy choice.

And yay for snow too, I'd never seen snow on the beach before. Whether I will feel the same in an hour though, as I try to get to work today, is another matter :)

haha well im "trying" to, well actually... im failing to get her to play games. She wasnt too keen on left4dead, maybe that was a bad start of game choice? :P

I still think this will be used as a possible valentines gift ad...hmm.
