Play as the grizzly cigar smoker.

Those pre-ordering Halo 3: ODST from specific UK retailers will receive a playable Sergeant Avery Junior Johnson character.

He's the one that smokes cigars and grunts at Master Chief. And he has survived more Flood outbreaks and Covenant battles and earned more medals than anyone else. [Almost - sniff. - Ed] Apart from Master Chief, who would crush him like a fly.

Sgt. Johnson will be playable in Firefight, the new co-op survival mode where teams need to survive waves of baddies.

Exactly who the "specific retailers" will be is unknown. Neither ShopTo, GAME, Play, Amazon nor HMV mention the deal yet.

Halo 3: ODST will be released exclusively for Xbox 360 on 22nd September at full price.

GAME have this for pre-order at �29.99 might be a mistake but I have no issue getting it at that price.

/preorders before price goes up.

To be fair, pretty much all shooters these days are focused on their online aspects, so if you disregard that from all of them, they become fairly poor value.

Also, you're comparing an extra skin in Halo ODST to the antagonist and arguably the star of The Dark Knight. It's not really the same thing, is it?!

Preorder bonuses are rubbish..

...and this one too...but i suspect it'll actually be quite sucessful... is a bit like giving cole train as a bonus character for gears

Johnson from Peep Show would slaughter the entire Covenant and the Flood before breakfast, and still have time to make Master Chief his bitch before his toast got cold. It wouldn't work plot-wise for that reason!
