Report: Pikmin 3 "well under way"
Miyamoto apparently offers update.
Shigeru Miyamoto has reportedly offered an update on development of a third game in cutesy strategy series Pikmin.
The UK's Official Nintendo Magazine tweeted from the BAFTAs on Friday (thanks VG247), "Miyamoto just told us Pikmin 3 development is 'well under way'".
Miyamoto was at the awards ceremony to pick up an Academy Fellowship. He may also have been pleased to see Wii Sports Resort winning a prize.
The last we heard of Pikmin 3 was at E3 in 2008, when Miyamoto told an invite-only audience, "We're making Pikmin."

And it would be perfect in HD!

But anyway: great news. NPC Pikmin proved the series works well with pointer controls, though arguably it didn't integrate them as well as a built-from-the-ground-up new game could.
Oh, and green box, obv.

I'm not really sure how it'd particularly benefit from HD. It's not as if the previous two looked bad.
Because pikmin are tiny and full of character and tiny pikmin would be clearer in HD. The advantage of HD is higher resolution rather than complicated models, flashy effects or realistic graphics as some believe.
Either way I don't want them to hold it for some new console that may or may not be coming out for years.
