One million LBP levels now uploaded
That's one every 21 seconds. Solid.
More than a million user-created LittleBigPlanet levels have now been uploaded.
They've been played over 244 million times. A new level has been published every 21 seconds since launch.
Did you see it on the video? Oh no? Then visit the US PlayStation blog, where there's a special trailer to celebrate hitting the million mark.
The post suggests popping back to the blog on 18th August as, "The folks at Media Molecule might have something interesting to tell you about then." Ben Fogle Sackboy costume? Here's hoping.

Still, unique and brilliant may not be the recurrent theme but it's a game that keeps on giving.

My summary of LBP: Godawful overrated clumsy platformer with badly implemented community functions and tedious level editor.
Negative that you bitches.

Only so we could kill him in various, interesting ways. If he doesn't manage it himself with his idiotic Boys Own adventures of course.

I poured my heart and soul into it too.

why the fuck are you comparing a book to a game? Just because 90% of the custom levels are crap doesn't mean anything, there are some real diamonds in the rough in LBP. I mean, 90% of retail games released on PS3 & 360 could be classed as shite but that doesn't invalidate the consoles themselves does it?

If you look properly, you can find some absolutely mind blowing levels on there. Love it.

dunno why this got negatives - i agree!

"dunno why this got negatives - i agree! "
Well, one of the main reasons for giving a negative would be the perception that the opinion presented in that post represented uneducated bias rather than having actually tried out all the functions that he tends to criticize. I was one of the contributors to Gaol's post's negative score.
For example, I have played the game, and thought it a VERY GOOD platformer with realistic physics (for a protagonist made out of cloth), thought the community functions (uploading & sharing a level, commenting on a level, rating it, submitting grievances, etc) were equivalent to several game-related websites out there (e.g. Gamespot, IGN) and the editor bent over backwards to make creating quite a lot of fun (even if not as fun as actually playing).

Think about it, how many platforming games give you so many levels? Not many, I can tell you that.
I can live with those statistics...
and the editor bent over backwards to make creating quite a lot of fun (even if not as fun as actually playing).
I agree that for those seeking to get the most out of it, the editor can become quite complex. But then again, this is a game. The editor should never need to be as fun as actually playing the levels.

By 'bias' I presume you mean some kind of fanboy bullshit. Well news is I'm a PS3 owner and even 'fan', I just didn't think much of LBP. Imprecise and floaty, I had more fun with Sonic the hedgehog nearly 20 years ago. Finding good levels isn't made much easier by the crappy search and rating functions and the level editor seems an unintuitive fiddle. /shrug

"By 'bias' I presume you mean some kind of fanboy bullshit"
You presume wrong. By bias, I mean one or more of these: a half-hearted attempt at playing LBP, any prejudice against platformers (or for other genres), or maybe you just weren't able to get into the game or didn't give it the proper time of day and were giving an opinion for something which you have not properly played through. One does not have to be devoid of the PS3 to be lacking in any sort of bias. I have played the game through and disagree on each of your points of critique.

In terms of playing the game, I completed the single player and spent a few hours in the community levels.
Don't assume someones opinion is less educated or valid simply beacuse you don't share it.

"I suspect you really did mean anti-Sony bias."
As I've stated earlier, you suspect wrong. However, if you've really got it into your head that I was referring to you being anti-Sony, then unfortunately there is little I cando to disillusion you.
"Don't assume someones opinion is less educated or valid simply beacuse you don't share it. "
You didn't do a very good job of explaining yourself when you first posted. Even when you posted your reason in detail, it seemed your opinion was based off EG's review (re: floaty controls) and approaching the game with something less than an open mind. As it is, the controls suit me just fine (and I suspect most others who do give it an honest chance) and the community functions are quite good (except for the few unfortunate incidents of some levels being modded/deleted).
