Nintendo trademarks Wii Relax in US

Could it be software for Vitality Sensor?

Nintendo has filed an application to trademark the name Wii Relax in the US.

The application covers a wide range of possible uses for the name - it could refer to all manner of software or peripherals. But there's plenty of speculation it could have something to do with the Vitality Sensor accessory, particularly since the patent mentions "parts and accessories of consumer videogame apparatus, including those with pulse-measuring functions".

Nintendo also trademarked the Wii Relax name in Europe last year. Hmm.

I think I'd prefer a mini game compilation to this from the sounds of it.

Is this going to be like one of those pulse things they used to have at the swimming baths and gyms? Or is it going to be more like one of those love things... According to Nintendo Pulse i'm a Passionate Plumber.... Well I'm a Hylian Hunkster... etc

Imagine if they'd come up with this in 1986 instead of Mario, and how much bigger the NES would have been!

    Wow!

Really hard to guess how this will do. If it can attract the self help/self hypnosis crowd in the same way Wii fit attracted the exercise DVD mob..it could be massive..

..but it could just be too out there to appeal to the masses.

I just hope they aren't too "medical" with their approach..I don't want he wii warning me I'm one burger away from a heart attack every time I switch it on.

I'd laugh if the sensor went on to sell 10million plus... The meltdown on the internet would be hilarious.

My guess is Soothing videos and animation, (Maybe a bit of light stress free 'flight siming) whilst having your heart rate monitored.

It'll be addictive, well hyped and sell loads and end up as another nail in Nintendo's gaming department department
