Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 co-op detailed
Face multiple bosses at once.
Tecmo KOEI has revealed that Team Missions in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 will provide different encounters to those in Story mode, including facing multiple bosses at once!
There will be over 30 Team Missions, writes producer Yosuke Hayashi on the KOEI forum - each sorted by difficulty and playable online by you and a friend or offline by you and the computer.
Once a level is picked, weapons, ninpo (special power) and costume must be selected. No items are allowed to be used and you may not change weapons.
When one player dies, the game is over, although each person can perform Critical Saves when a partner low on health is nearby. The duo can also pull-off an Ultimate Ninpo attack, which decimates all enemies in the area.
This can be seen in a Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 co-op video on Eurogamer TV
.
Yoshuke Hayashi goes on to tell us there will be unlockable costumes for all three characters - Ryu, Ayane, Momiji - plus a full compliment of Trophies including those awarded specifically for co-op play.
Hayashi also responded to fans who are dubious about the level of gore in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
"Our goal is to create one of most challenging action games and we believe that can be achieved without all of [the] attention going to the amount of blood that is used throughout the game," he says, noting that ESRB advertising guidelines don't allow decapitation to be shown in trailers.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 will be released in Europe on 2nd October exclusively for PlayStation 3.
