Ninja Gaiden DS here in June

Ubisoft in charge of distribution.

Ubisoft has snagged the distribution rights to Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword and will be releasing it here in June.

This pocket-ninja adventure has been specially made for the handheld by Tecmo and has things like stylus controls and purpose-built 3D graphics from the future, as well as a fresh story and lots of action.

It looks like - judging by the screenshots and not the position of the sun - you will be playing it all with the DS in a book-like orientation, too.

Dragon Sword was released at the end of March in the US and has been well received. It has a Metacritic average of 83 per cent and has picked up praise for capturing the spirit of the series, although some claimed it was a bit easy.

    i got a US copy of this and am really enjoying it so far. and Ubisoft won't get any of my money which is a bonus.

    Damn. I pre-ordered this from Movie Tyme and it's still not arrived yet.

    Come on postie!

    @Santino - did you start playing it on hard from the start?

    The only criticism I have heard about the game is that it is too short and too easy?

    @ Pac

    as in the xbox versions only normal mode is available from the start, it is a bit easy but still very enjoyable. i think it is a fairly short and straightforward game but i can see myself playing through it again on harder difficulties as it is really very well made and the combat (predictably enough considering the franchise) is very fun.

    Does anyone not just import DS games from the US?
    I see little reason to wait longer and pay more for them.

    @Santino

    That's a bit of a shame as I would have liked to have tried it on hard from the start.

    Having said that, I tried to play NG on the Xbox on hard and gave up after a few levels (after completing it on normal of course).

    @WinterSnowblind

    The only downside is that there are far fewer places where you can trade them in.

    + three months?
    This way I am forced to support a 'foreign empire' again by importing I suppose. :S
