BF2 patch needs patching up
MEDIIIIIIIC!
Electronic Arts has advised Battlefield 2 fans to dump the patch they downloaded last week after it turned out that a memory leak was causing problems "on some systems".
Speaking in a community update on the game's official website, EA admin type Mike said: "we recommend that you reinstall the game and NOT the v1.01 update we released earlier this week".
He also advised users of the new server files for Windows and Linux to revert to the unpatched version as well.
EA aims to have a fix for the fix fixed up sharpish, Mike continued.
Popular young person's multiplayer first-person shooter Battlefield 2 (and the stats suggest it is very popular) is out now on the PC.

Extremely poor testing by EA (if indeed they did any), they seem to have upset the bulk of the community what with the salmon-ing and stats abuse too.

The BF2 mp server for linux was fucked by this... EfA's response: Install on Windows... Great... Pay for the SO, add some extra ram (double it, in fact, according to EA's own specs)...
EfA's retarded online support team gave various solutions to this problem, topping with: "format hdd and reinstall SO....
F-king retarded corporation!

Mind you I had no problems with 1.0 either beyond the crappy in game server browser and 1.01 helped that a lot.

It's when a program keeps grabbing more memory from outside the game in order to keep running, so eventually it could consume all the memory you have on your Pc and cause a crash...
