Gothic 3 dated News

PC News by Tom Bramwell

9 August, 2006

JoWooD and Deep Silver have announced that Gothic 3 will be released on October 13th in Europe.

Technically that's a slip - last time they were saying September - but RPG fans will apparently be "rewarded with a great game for their patience" according to JoWooD brand manager Stefan Berger.

Developed by Piranha Byte, Gothic 3 has new visuals, combat and non-linear levels. Meanwhile, we have screenshots and trailers.

Expect a full review closer to release.

Cool.

My most anticipated game in ages. I just hope it's a bit more of a success outside of Germany this time around. Previews on Gamespy, IGN and Gamespot have been pretty positive, and in general I have the impression there's more buzz in the English/US press about G3 than about its predecessors.

Loved the first two.

Don't give a rats ass if its delayed so long as the time is put to good use. I can wait.

Heh. These "dated" headlines get me everytime, for a second.

Anyway, I feel a lot of Gothic love in this (albeit short) thread - very good! :)

Rhinos and dinos! Guess I'd best get back to finishing the Oblivion main quest before this one arrives...

I so wanted to like Gothic 2, but the controls just scared the hell out of me. It was just too awkward.

I hope this has a more traditional control system. At least, a better one.
