JoWooD working on Gothic 4

Eyes new developer.

JoWooD has revealed that it's currently working on Gothic 4 for PC and next-generation consoles.

However, the publisher couldn't agree terms with Pluto 13 - the parent company of developer Piranha Bytes - so "the collaboration has come to an end".

Which means JoWooD is going to need a new developer. But unfortunately we couldn't get hold of the company this morning to find out who that will be, and what ramifications it will have.

The Gothic series is based around sprawling role-playing games, which so far have been limited to PC. The third and most recent instalment was a strong contender to Bethesda's Oblivion, earning itself a solid place in Eurogamer's heart - particularly our German friends, who absolutely loved it.
