Mercenaries 2 gets PS3 Trophies

And subsequent interest boost.

Pandemic has released a Trophy patch for Mercenaries 2 on PS3.

The update, v1.02, adds 40 Trophies, according to PlayStation LifeStyle. And each reward is named after a heavy metal song.

Of the 40, 24 are bronze, 11 are silver, and four are gold. Collect the lot, and you'll receive the coveted platinum Trophy.

These are not awarded retroactively, so earning them means wading through this quite uninspiring sequel again - not that that will stop the hardened Trophy harvesters.

    Uninspiring hits the nail right on the head, in terms of how I've found this game so far. It's not bad, and there's things to be getting along with, but the world could have done with a trim, as it comes across, outside of hotspots, as a bit too quiet, and bland. As if they'd have done well to reduce the scale to prevent areas that are just there so that something is there.

    I found a ridiculous location, as an example, out in the desert. It was some sort of compound with numerous colossal circular towers, that interestingly, you could climb using ladders to the very top, to then entirely zero purpose. It seemed to be an area loosely controlled by the black-suited contractors, as their gates enclosed it, and I kept hearing gunfire while exploring this waste of space - but I was never able to locate any source for it.

    Maybe more of the map is used later, though, as I'm not far into it, really, so there won't be much, if anything, to replay to start collecting trophies.

    Good news that PS3 games are getting trophies... :)

    ... shame it couldn't be for a better game, like Pure or FIFA 09 for example.

    I was thinking about restarting anyway with a new character anyway, this'll do as a half-decent excuse. It might be broken, but it's fun :)

    Ratchet & Clank and MGS4 would be most appreciated if they were in the list to be trophyfied.

    I am still waiting for this game to hit the bargain bins. Why doesn't it hit the bargain bins?! Are you people buying it at full price, thus stopping me from getting it for half price?! DAMN YOU ALL

    I've seen it on Play.com going for 34.99 Euro.

    I'll wait till it drops around the 20-25 Euro mark...

    Did the same with Ironman and saved myself 35 Euros!

    This game is fucking shit as it stands in its sorry shoddy state! Trophies patch, whateva. How about a bug fix patch, how about free content, how about cheat crates and costumes you wankers, screw effing trophies I've finished your game and have been unable to do all the missions as they got locked out. Brilliant game, waste of money!!!
