Lamborghini to appear in Gran Turismo
Sony licences supercars for PSP and beyond.
Sony has revealed five pre-order bonus cars for Gran Turismo PSP - and one of them is a Lamborghini, the first time one of the Italian manufacturer's exotics has appeared in the series.
The US PlayStation blog lifted the lid on the pre-order scheme, which will add one of five high-end sports cars to the garage of players who decide to get the game early. Among them is the 1974 Lamborghini Countach LP400.
Sony's Stephanie Yoshimoto hinted this wouldn't be a one-off. "GT fans know this is special, as it marks the first time Lamborghini has ever been in Gran Turismo. And as you can imagine, this won't be the last Lamborghini in a Gran Turismo game, either," she said. So we can presumably Gran Turismo 5 to feature a full complement of howling, wedge-shaped supercars.
The other cars available to pre-orderers, in exclusive colours, are the Bugatti Veyron, Enzo Ferrari, the insane GTbyCitroen concept, and the more common-or-garden but still supernaturally fast Nissan GT-R Spec V.
GT PSP launches on October 1st, on UMD and as a PlayStation Network download, alongside the PSPgo.

PS3 slim... yes
GT5... no way
But I'm sure both will be hyped at TGS in september

GT4 (and GT3 before it) had Rufs in it, but even though Rufs are based on Porsches, Ruf is considered a separate manufacturer (as opposed to a Porsche tuner) by the German government, so Polyphony was allowed to include their cars in the game (with their consent, obviously) even though they had been denied permission by Porsche.

Gonna try and pick up a normal PSP for GT and MGS Peacewalker.

But will they be destructible? As in real-time damage model. That's what I'm interested in.
No indestructible cars please!

You should. I just picked up a PSP s&l for 120 quid new and threw in a 16GB memory card for 40 quid. OK, it's not slidey, it 's a bit bigger and it doesn't have bluetooth but it's got a better screen than the PSP Go and it cost me about 70 quid less than anyone's pre-order price for the Go is. The price for that is crazy.

No destruction in GT PSP (CPU's not up to it apparently). The line seems to be it will be in GT5 in some form.

Yeah, Lambos are at that price range where it's a no-brainer to include them in a mass-market game. Think of the enormous markets they're opening themselves to now - all of those stupidly rich people who didn't aspire to own one will play and soon change their minds!

Jon, there was no way I'd pay £249.99 for a PSP go. My mate offered to sell me his PSP but I'd prefer a new one. Also the Resistance game on PSP looks quite good and all the game shops have a load of pre owned UMDs so it might be a worthwhile investment.

Still, every brand they can add is great! I'm pretty excited about this ... I don't care if they don't always drive great, they still look awesome and you just need to have a Diablo to do a F40 vs Diablo match.

If so, it marks the beginning of the end for the PSPfat, Sony and other publishers clearly begin to favour the PSPgo and the DLC, instead of the currently established PSPfat and UMD base.
If that is the case, then it's not fair and I'm boycotting any such games.

Except GT fans know this isn't the case, since the Japanese got their hands on a race-tuned Diablo in GT3 which us westerners ever got to see. Envied them for so long ... butno longer!

How is it the beginning of the end for the normal PSP (1000-3000) which can currently hold up to 32GB storage?

Because if games shift towards DLC, you'll now have to buy more Memory Sticks, whereas before it was all on UMD; this time you buy the storage medium separately from the game itself, thus you're buying two things instead of one.
And before you counter that with the a typical memory stick should hold enough games, it's not enough if people want to also have their photos and music with them as well. An 8GB stick will soon sound inadequate and that in itself will set you back about £20 these days.
It all adds up and so far, we've not even got close to buying the DLC game yet - that will add even further to the cost of the whole thing.
I feel more sorry for PSPgo customers, actually, as they'll have no choice and the onboard 16GB/32GB memory will soon be filled up with game code, DLC, photos and music files.

I doubt if anyone will bother with the PSPgo, to be honest, if games continue to be trickled out - like the current PSP - and by then, the prospect of a cheaper/thinner PS3 will be more of a reality and may well undercut the PSPgo. So who'd want to invest in that - especially at the £200+ RRP price?!!

Yeah true there is a high chance that the new PS3 slim will undercut the PSP Go. Though i wanna get back into the PSP and this new small device suits me more than my bulky PSP 1000 for gaming on the move because im more into digital downloads etc for a handheld gaming device than buying physical disc's like the UMD. This started really since i had my iPhone and started downloading games for that via itunes. I would never consider going fully digital on a full size console like my PS3 and i don't think it ever will, but i certainly think its the future for handheld gaming, Seeing you don't have to worry about other things to carry and what games you wanna take with you as there already within the system. And not owning physical discs wouldn't bother me for a device like the PSP.

I agree with what your saying, im getting a PSP Go for size and digital gaming, i know that apart from that and bluetooth they are exactly the same and im not trying to fool myself with the "exclusive content" path. Sony have said that eventually there will be a few exclusive games for the PSP Go specifically designed to be smaller for gaming on the go, but apart from that and maybe some possible non gaming apps like things you see on the iphone there wont be alot else different.
But to this whole small storage thing, the PSP Go will sync to your PS3 or PC like an Ipod does to itunes and you can choose to add and remove games, music, pics like that. So 16 GB is not as bad as it first seemed, unless you want all your data on there at once then you may need to get a 32 GB card which is more money but i cant see why you would want everything on you all the time. Your not gonna play every game you own everyday, and syncing it to your PC or PS3 and swapping games over is a 2 minute job when you get home.
