Home gets Resident Evil 5 space

Still waiting for Warhawk and Uncharted.

In a shocking display of timeliness, Capcom's Resident Evil 5 game space has been added to PlayStation Home today.

We just went onto PSN to check, and there it is: the Studio Lot, with a facsimile of the game's African village level to explore, and some interactive features - although it's not yet complete, according to good old Ted the Dog. There's free Resident Evil gear available in the mall, too.

Also added in the latest update are complete Street Fighter costumes, a new multiplayer game in Home Square (Helicopter Hit), and some new Watchmen stuff.

Resident Evil 5 joins Far Cry 2 as the only Home game spaces available in Europe. Sony has yet to add its long-promised spaces for Warhawk, Uncharted and Resistance.

Resident Evil 5 is out next week.

Any indications as to when the Eurogamer review will be released?
  • 4thVariety #2 3 years ago

We already have a demo, good trailers are available too, so why go into Home in order to be advertized to?

At least the clothing isn't being sold.

@Crofto "Who gives a shit? I'll write a summary for you..."

I stopped reading after that sentence...I give a 'shit'. I don't want to buy a game from a series which I have never bought a previous release before - I consider Eurogamers reviews, along with many other sites useful. I've played the demo but the rest of the game is something I am interested in...

Also I doubt EG will overlook the racism considering that they wrote a preview of the game that essentially turned into a discussion on the racism aspects...

    @Crofto

Although you are being sarcastic. I can't help feeling that your analysis is 100% accurate. I played the full game's first three levels and the partner AI is rediculous. Shiva is beyond a liability. She WILL end your game on numerous occasions by getting her head cut off or simply by failing to use the weapons you give her!

I only played three levels and I was nearly at the point where I wanted to hurl the joypad across the room! Co-op is fun though because your buddy is bound to have a sense of self preservation rather than just using a handgun or even a sniper rifle to shoot guys standing next to them!

If this get's above a 7 I'm going to be calling the reviewer a backhand taking pratt!

You know I quite like this space idea... Little areas taken from actual games for you to run around and hump female avatars in.

360 and Wii need to rip this off. Imagine being able to run around as your Mii inside an MMO version of the castle area from Super Mario Galaxy back when it was released, (during the festival and pre-Bowser kidnap.) That would be cool. I like this idea.

When the game proper is out next week, you should be able to go to this space, talk to some fellow Resi-5 fans, and then (don't forget to put the disc in first) launch into a co-op game with them straight from Home. Certainly, that's progress?

    @ Arwin

That may be progress, but "this is living"

    360 has Home? Gamespaces?

Oh wait, you're that guy whom everyone puts on ignore, right? My mistake.

By the way, talking about progress, playfire.com can now synch your PSN trophies directly (yes, farticus, like you could with the 360 for a long time now already). Will Eurogamer follow soon?

EDIT: or has playfire.com just been really creative in using your login details to get the details off the U.S. site?

As a 360 owner, I cannot tell you just how jealous this makes me.

"I don't use Home right now, but I'd be interested in using it again if it helped set up online games"

I agree, I'd like to see launching into a game be a requirement...

Love how you selectively quote him.
