    After playing Alpha Protocol and considering it's a followup to Fallout 3, this could be very special.

    Looks like more of the same which is a great thing in my book.
    Some cool new weapons in that trailer.

    Using that ion cannon thing on an unsuspecting friend is going to be entertaining.

    Im trying to not get impressed. Thing is that Fallout 3 was amazing. At first I had to start playing all over like 3 times till i started liking the game and get to finish it. Turned out awesome. This one isnt developed from Bethesa like Fallout 3. Its from Obsidian Entertainment and swapping hands on followups has been proved to be a bad thing for good franchises. I really really hope they dont ruin it. If it's as good as the last one then Im sold of course.

    @Eraysor - Is this going to be MP enabled??

    @ davisorle

    Obsidian consists of some of the people who worked on the first two original Fallout games so this should hopefully be the better game.

    Eurogamer ... again late to the show. OLD NEWS

    Cool trailer. Can't wait.

    Off-topic but, HOW F*CKING FRUSTRATING IS THAT SPRING LEVEL IN WORLD 4 OF GALAXY 2? ARGH!

    @davisorle

    Erm, you realise that the guys at Obsidian actually created the Fallout franchise in the first place, yeah?

    Hot diggity damn.

    One question. An Enclave spybot ?

    Can really see the need to force me to watch a fallout new vegas advert before watching a trailer for the same game. Never mind eh?

    Nice explodey stuff, though they still haven't fixed those jerky character animations and slightly lifeless faces then? Ah well, I'm sure I can overlook a bit of ropey modelling if it's anywhere near as good as Fallout 3.

    Looks decidedly 'last gen'.

    Not sure about this new Fallout game. It looks a bit too much like Fallout 3 for my liking and I've played that game so much it is a bit boring now! Although I must admit, Obsidian did a brilliant job with the sequal to KOTOR, so we'll have to wait and see! So long as it works this time and isn't buggy then it could be a contender for game of the year. I purchased the Fallout 3 GOTY edition and it was buggy as anything! I couldn't even play several of the add on packs because they kept freezing!

    @ mr_pink

    Given how much time passed between Oblivion and Fallout 3 and how both these games share this flaw, I'm beginning to suspect that the problem with character animations and faces is one with the engine itself, rather than their creative process. Maybe they can't fix it?

    Yeah, I even clocked as much as 225 hours in Fallout 3 myself, but hopefully with the new story and setting, they'll grab you right back again nevertheless.
  • retr0gamer #20 2 years ago

    Eh couldn't they have shown better gameplay footage than the glitchy super mutant appearing out of nowhere?

    Still I loved Fallout 3, warts and all.
  • metalangel #21 2 years ago

    Original Black Isle team members or not, stuff like KOTOR2 makes me nervous.
  • Iain815 #22 2 years ago

    That song is awesome.

    stuff like KOTOR2 makes me nervous.

    KOTOR2 wasn't the fault of Obsidian. Lucasarts forced a 12-month development and then refused to let Obsidian do any substantial post-release content/support. Had they been given more time, they would have been able to implement all the extra stuff that they had, and which can be found (mostly) on the discs.

    Sad puppy that I am, I pre-ordered this on Steam. Knowing full well that I should wait for GotY edition so that I would get all the DLC included rather than paying through the nose for it.

    But I just loved Fallout 3 so so much.
  • Vortex808 #25 2 years ago

    This was an instant buy for me anyway, as i loved fallout3 so much. It looks like more of the same which is fine by me. Even if some of the animations still look a bit ropey. I got totally lost in the world last time and did pretty much everything. Can't wait.

    @retr0gamer

    I think that was a Super Mutant using a Stealth Boy: A la the ghost-mutants in Fallout 1 Children of the Cathedral map.

    Wooo, 19th October, released on my birthday :D
    I got the Collectors Edition on FO3 (the bobblehead is still on my desk!), and I am definitely going to get the collectors edition of this one.

    @davisrole Dude this is a good thing because technically the fallout franchise is finally returning to the hands of its original developers of Black Isle because Obisidian is a group from the once Black Isle Studio so if anything having black isle technically work on its game again is just a big favor for fallout new vegas
