Exclusive ArmA content for UK release
Brits and "rest of EU" get lucky.
Often last to both the console launch party and the highly-anticipated-game release bash, Europeans rarely get special treatment from the gaming world.
Which is why it's delightful that 505 Games and Bohemia Interactive are to add exclusive content for ArmA: Armed Assault when it's released in the UK and "the rest of the EU" on February 16 next year. The PC FPS is already available in Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland.
Lucky European gamers can expect two new aircraft to shoot or bomb things with; two new motorbikes, or rather 'M070R|31K35'; and four new weapons for general killing.
There will also be a new open-ended mission called "Blood, Sweat and Tears." You will have the option of playing as either Cpt. Mike Lamber or Pvt. Rich Angelo as you struggle through one very long morning on the bloody battlefields of Atlantic island Sahrani.
"We are really pleased to be able to enhance the ArmA experience with this excellent exclusive content for the game's February launch", said Marek Spanel, project lead at Bohemia Interactive. "Offering such exciting new features before the game has even launched is Bohemia's way of showing our appreciation of the dedicated ArmA fan community and to reward gamers' patience as the game readies for release."

Review scores don't look too promising though
Even more surprised to find a Eurogamer review of it, albeit in German!

It's great, but like it was with OFP at the time, it needs a) patches, and b) a really good PC.

Oh, and it's not THAT system-hungry. It looked damn pretty on my 2.1ghz/1gb ram/6800GT with a little elementary setting tweaking.

Game 2 ( http://comm unity.bistudio.com/wiki/Game_2 ) will be the "real" sequel.

I'm fairly certain that these will be fixed, probably not in time for the Rest-of-EU release, but the fixes will trickle in over time a la Operation Flashpoint.
Certainly Armed Assault, even with its problems, is still the finest infantry sim/fps going.
