E3: Space Siege details emerge
RPG from Gas Powered Games.
SEGA has revealed more information for its "chilling" upcoming science fiction role-playing game Space Siege.
It's being developed by Chris Taylor and his team at Gas Powered Games, the studio responsible for Dungeon Siege and Supreme Commander.
Space Siege promises to have tactical combat action, where you'll need to dynamically use your environment to outsmart and lay ambushes for your enemies. You'll do this with the help of your customisable robot partner, HR-V.
Everything from the robot's armour, weapons and special equipment can be upgraded, and it will respond to your commands to help make your fancy manoeuvres successful. The pair of you can even combine your efforts to pull off special moves. Flipper and that freckly boy could never do that.
As with most role-playing stories your path is open to multiple approaches. You can stay entirely human or embrace cybernetic technology implants, as well as revel in numerous skill choices and special abilities.
The aliens and characters you meet along the way are all supposed have unique personalities, and there's a separate online co-operative campaign you can play with up to four of your friends.
Space Siege is due for release in 2008. Pop over to our Space Siege gallery for the latest E3 screenshots.

I liked Dungeon Siege actually, but more of the same, only with guns and in drab environments... no thank you.
