Dante's Inferno coming in February News

PC PSP Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Ellie Gibson

Electronic Arts has announced Dante's Inferno will be released in the US on 9th February, with a European launch to follow on February 12th.

Senior producer Justin Lambros made the announcement at EA's gamescom press conference. He also showed the audience the sixth circle of hell, Heresy, for the first time. Turns out it's quite burny.

Lambros then revealed the game's Righteousness system. This will allow you to Punish or Absolve the damned souls and demon enemies you come across. In other words, you can cut them in half and spear them through the face, or send them off gently in a ball of bright white light.

The decisions you make affect how Dante evolves as a character. Go down the punishment route and your crazy scythe thing will get more powerful, while absolving people will increase the strength of your holy cross.

Roll on February, then.

Sounds like God Of War with a touch of inFamous. Might pick this up after God Of War III if it's any good.

First of, Lambros has to be greek or at least from greek family due to the name so im glad about that bit which is not relevant lol.. :P

Now to the point. so that system is like ... choosing to kill or not the lil sisters from Bioshock but with a Fable effect from what you choose to do kinda!? Anyhow, id have to see exactly how it effects the char's atributes etc to get this right. Im interested in the game but not THAT impressed till I see more ingame or maybe a demo. Hope I get to love it though I dont mind games that I get into and are worth so be my guest and impress me with it pls ^^

I honestly hope this is one of your jokes, Ellie.

I hate it when developers give the illusion of choice. 'If you kill this guy in the most brutal and viscerally pleasant means possible, splashing blood across the screen, you will get Scythe of Retribution +999. If you pat him on the back and let him go, you will have to fight his stronger form later on.'

Seems a bit pointless to punish them, you know seeing as they're in hell and all that. seems like it was probably thrown on at the end in a desperate bid to try to get people to take notice.

So it's just another version of an 'alignment' system that has been used in games for years, then?

What next? "Aerial Manoeuvre System" where you press a button, Dante jumps AND YOU CAN CONTROL HIM A LITTLE?!
