COD Zombies released on iPhone

This one crypt up on us.

Activision has released Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies on the iPhone and iPod Touch at a fleshy price of £5.99. That's almost as expensive as the Eurogamer App. [I think you mean "great value" - Ed.]

The App recreates World at War's console co-op mode where teams of four battle waves of Nazi undead. Stuffing all that onto the iPhone is a tall task but to Activision's credit the comments are positive and the goals have been achieved - reports of outstanding graphics and smooth gameplay are common.

Couple that with four-player Wi-Fi/Internet co-op or Bluetooth teams of two and Zombies is a hot, albeit pricey, prospect.

    Presumably you've tried the EG app EarlBassett? It's well worth the money IMO. It is a thousand times better than using the regular browser and you get content on the go like an ever updating mag in your pocket.

    you get egtv on the bus, the pages load twice as fast as on safari, posting comments is easy,
    money for old rope? I've not been on the main site since getting this app!
    not to mention the fact that I've been visiting eg for years and it's only since I got this app that Ive started posting comments.

    Not interested in this, never got waw and the zombie mode seemed ok but never grabbed me.

    Ignoring just how generally distasteful I find it to have a wargame where the losing side are not only perpetually the bad guys but also zombies, I just can't get used to the concept of the iFoan being used for FPS. I mean, using it for any games other than Monkeyball I find incomprehensible enough, but for FPS? The whole point of FPS is immersion, if I can't see the gun in my hands because of my finger thudding on the screen, I can't see that flying really. But then, I still think touchscreens are a massive, grimy and ineffective waste of time generally so I suppose I must be a massive luddite.

    the stats system that they had on COD 5 - you could check them out on an iphone app which was pretty sweet to check out whilst attending to business in the can..

    Not that I want this to be personal or anything, but...masturbatory exercises conducted in the privacy of the toilet are more traditionally associated with the genitals. Your stats aren't likely to be any different from last time you played, are they, and if they are really that important to you perhaps you'll remember them? Or are there now people you can pay to increase your stats on CoD while you go for a shit?

    its actually really good, up until now theres hasn't really been any really good games for the iphone. apart from some novalty apps that your bored of after an hour. but this did shock me withs its graphics and game play. 8/10 thumbs up
