Animal Crossing Wii Speak bundle priced
Yours for around 60 quid.
Nintendo has told Eurogamer that Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City will cost around GBP 59 if you want to buy it bundled with Wii Speak.
For those who aren't familiar, Wii Speak is the new accessory that works as both a speaker and microphone. The idea is everyone in the room is able to communicate without the need for individual headsets.
According to Nintendo, Wii Speak will also be available as a standalone accessory for around GBP 25. If you just want the game, it'll cost around GBP 39.
Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City is out on 5th December. In the meantime, trailers, videos and words about it can be found over on the gamepage.

Surely it can't be that expensive to make a mic/speaker!

EDIT: Considering the ShopTo link right next to the article, you are essentially paying £31 for a branded microphone which I imagine costs about £3. It's just Nintendo trying to eat your money.

Gah, Nintendo...

We all know the game will actually be on sale for £30 like the rest of wii games. So it'll probably be slightly cheaper to buy it seperately anyway.

Have they not read the news recently?
Or noticed the banks collapsing around us?
Animal Crossing is one of those games that you wanna play every decade, not every year. I am quite happy with my DS version for now

0.2? That's a bit ambitious isn't it?

Oops, no it isn't, 45.16 (UK price) is 69.99 (US price).

And there was me thinking I could just turn my head and speak to the person sitting next to me ;o)

Should have been £19.95 for the Wii Speak......£29.95 for the game and £39.95- £44.95 for the bundle.
I would have been more tempted if they gave the game a lush Pikmin style landscape make-over.

Did you buy a sandwich this week? theres more % mark up on that, than on the Wii. I guess real world people know the Wii is not "ridiculously expensive" or it wouldn't sell.

So this could be used for audio-dogging. You're banging away at enemies on The Conduit and your mate is banging away at his missus? It'll never work, SWAT 4 proved erotic audio and FPS is not a good combination.

Maybe if Animal Crossing was actually an advancement from the Gc/WW version which it clearly isn't. Actually, no I'd still want a £40 no-mic version.

Err...the game is £29 at dvd.co.uk so expect this to be £25 from your local Sainsburys or Asda at some point., Im pretty sure Nintendo are marketing this at...you know..the 20 odd million people who havn't played it on another platform. Wii speak is a new voice conference channel that will be very welcome for famililes all over the world. I don't think Nintendo are going to lose any sleep because Rodriguez prefers Fallout 3.

Really? You think that the average family will want one of these? Why? I can't see that the average family has a pressing need to communicate with other Wii owning families. I imagine this will rely on friend codes and unless the Wii speak channel allows you to set up some kind of account that others can search for I can't see it being used that much.
I could, obviously, be wrong but I can't see it appealing to families that much and I really can't see those families that do buy it getting that much use out of it.

I don't think Nintendo will lose any sleep because I prefer Fallout 3 either, but I've been gaming for around 20 years now and it's the first time I've ever wanted to get shot of a current gen console before the end of it's lifespan. When you compare the availability of quality titles on 360 and PS3 and what they've got coming in the future next to the Wii there's just no comparison. I gave the Wii a fair chance, I enjoyed the likes of Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart Wii, but have no desire for animal crossing, wii music, wii fit etc - to me they seem and 'play' like glorified gimmicks. The Wii had shitloads of potential but just hasn't delivered for me, and the gimmick-laden future has put me right off. Fallout 3 [/b]is[/b] awesome, innovative and immersive, and I think both Microsoft and Sony have shown they too can deliver [better?] quality 'mass appeal' games in the likes of Viva Pinata and LittleBigPlanet respectively, compared to say, Animal Crossing, but I don't see the Wii delivering the likes of Fable or Fallout.
Finally I'd add that whilst you dismiss my comments and decision to get shot of my Wii as being ineffectual to Nintendo, I'd point to the fact that the Gamecube was on it's knees in the last generation, and it was dedicated gamers like me who bought a Cube and plenty of games throughout its lifespan, helping them, in my own small way, survive the last gen and make it to the Wii. I hope Nintendo's new found audience are as dedicated in the long term future to supporting them if times ever get bad again.

"This is expensive!"
"A car is more expensive!"
"Good point, that means this is cheap!"
Who cares if the 360 wireless adapter is expensive? For a start you don't need it for voice comms. For another thing it's irrelevant when we're talking about Wii Speak.
