Ubisoft employee who teased Prince of Persia game has Twitter feed pulled

Lost to the sands of time.

A Ubisoft employee who yesterday appeared to tease a new Prince of Persia game on Twitter has had his feed pulled offline.

The Twitter profile of Ubisoft Reflections engineer Drew James now redirects to a 404 page, VGLeaks spotted, just hours after a post asking "What next for #Prince of Persia?" was removed.

The message included an image showing the various incarnations of the Prince to date, with a question mark over a potential future incarnation.

The post also copied in the official @UbiReflections Twitter and the personal account of Ubisoft Toronto boss Jade Raymond.

It comes just a week after a report surfaced that claimed a new 2D Prince of Persia game was in development and would use Rayman Legends' UbiArt engine.

The Prince's 2D body will be animated to look like it is a 3D model, the report added, and similar to Rayman himself would consist of numerous moving parts.

Ubisoft declined to comment on that report at the time, although is known to be pursuing other uses for the UbiArt engine, such as in the upcoming role-player Child of Light and World War 1 side-scroller Valiant Hearts.

The last major entry in the Prince of Persia series was released all the way back in 2008, although Ubisoft has sporadically hinted that the series would return when the time was right.
