Xenoblade Chronicles developer hiring for 3DS game

Still staffing up for Wii U development.

Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft is working on a new 3DS title, a set of job listings posted on the company's official website reveal.

Monolith Soft's Kyoto studio is currently looking for designers experienced in creating characters, maps and battle scenarios.

No further details of the project have been announced.

Previous positions listed for Wii U development at Monolith Soft's Tokyo headquarters are also still live.

RPG outfit Monolith Soft previously developed card-based role-player Baten Kaitos for GameCube. The Nintendo-owned studio also aided its parent company in the development of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

I would honestly buy a 3DS for that game alone, but it seems that the console is starting to hit a critical mass already. Will have to pick one up.

Xenoblade Chronicles is, to my mind, the best RPG to come from Japan since Final Fantasy IX.

I'm in the UK but have a US Wii (I still have 45 Gamecube Games on US that I like to play) so have to wait just a little longer for Xenoblade and can't wait.

My 3DS is ready and waiting for whatever else Monolith come up with and Superfurry, although having not played Xenoblade, FFIX was the last great RPG out of Japan in my opinion.

Fantastic news. I'm about 20 hours into Xenoblade now and I can confidently say that its the best JRPG I've played since FF XII (which is my personal favourite of the Final Fantasies).

I'm only 40 hours into Xenoblade and i've got to say it may well be my all-time favourite RPG. It's just so rewarding to play through. The side quests and affinity charts for each of the towns just makes the the world so involving and so believable. If they released anything like this on the 3DS, i'd be puking with excitement every day until it's release.

@superfurry Hate to sound pedantic but Final Fantasy IX was developed in Hawaii with input from Square's western developers.
