GAME website removing PC games is a mistake
Blame "a gremlin in the system".
PC games not displaying on the website of shop-chain Game are the result of "a gremlin in the system", the company explained to Eurogamer.
In other words, it's a mistake. Game's technical people are apparently working on fixing the problem right now.
At the time of writing, however, the Game website still displays no PC titles for sale.

Actually that's not fair, RPS pointed me to a rather nice £8 Deus Ex HR download this weekend from them so their downloads are worth looking at from time to time I guess.

I hope they haven't paid the developers.

Actually retail are the ones blanking out PC, No resell value in 2nd hand so they stopped bothering as there is little money in it for them. The industry are happily selling on or setting up their own download systems while retail slowly catch on to the growth that's happening with PC moving to download.

I don't buy PC titles from GAME's shops though.

So true.
Not to mention that they seems no longer capable of quick deliveries: really all the orders I have made from them in the last months literally took weeks to arrive.

I don't give a rats bum about anti-PC gaming sentiment, but the pedant in me must point out that 4.5m players is really not a very big number. Unless of course we are saying that the majority of PC gamers don't have a Steam account (which is probably the case).
I do concede that 4.5m is indeed a larger number than 7, but I wasn't sure if that was the point you were making

4.5 million concurrent gamers.
Also, 4.5m online concurrent gamers. Not those in offline mode.
I would expect the total number of Steam accounts to be quite a bit higher.
Comment below viewing threshold Show
You don't think that's a large number when it's 4.5 million *concurrent* users?
I also have a pile of PC games to get through. Skyrim, MW3, Battlefield 3 are all staring at me, questioningly...
"Why did you buy us?"
"Why don't you at least install us?"
"Have we done something wrong?"
The voices tell me other things, too.

I don't *actually* believe that to be the case (although I'm beginning to worry that posting in the Comments section is starting to affect me

I tend not to install games until I plan on playing them, although that has left about two thirds of my collection uninstalled.

Steam Boat Syndrome?
Comment below viewing threshold Show
Ahh, fair dos then. I clearly don't understand how Steam works. I thought the number was close to representative of total active accounts. My bad.
Comment below viewing threshold Show
Conservative estimates put the number of Steam USERS at around 40 to 50 million.

I remember DOS. It was never fair. In fact, the bastard hated me (don't blame it, mind).

I cant believe a few had to bite the bait on what was clearly a tongue in cheek comment (comment number 2 BTW)
Everybody knows there are way more PC gamers than 7, i heard in England alone there is nearly 200
Comment below viewing threshold Show
Also nothing is ever in stock apart from some new releases. Game is worse financial trouble than they let on I expect. Their arrogance will get the better of them soon..
I hope Hmv survive over game anyday.

200 is actually the number of times we've heard the joke about PC gaming dying. Today.
We're not touchy on the subject. We're bored of the same old tiresome jokes ;P

My PC has had a hell of a lot more playtime this year than any of my consoles.
