UPDATE: Battlefield 3 lead game designer David Goldfarb has said the Battlefield 3 day one patch adds "all the final stuff" to the game.

ORIGINAL STORY: Battlefield 3 launches tomorrow with a meaty day one patch.

On Xbox 360 the patch is 167MB.

Presumably it affects the game's multiplayer. We've asked EA for patch notes and information relating to the PC and PlayStation 3 versions of the first-person shooter.

Look i like battlefield, but c'mon has EG become EA's bitch or what? This whole site is one large ad for Battlefield 3. IMO the new site design sucks, bring back the old layout!

OT: First day patches are just poor, especially when it's 167mb!

Do you think you can add some "post patch" update on the review as well?
Maybe there are substantial differences between you review copy and the updated version so it could be worth checking before posting the review.

PC version has a metacritic rating of 93 at the moment, based on 14 reviews - all positive. For this game, it would probably make sense to have completely different review scores for PC and console, as it is impossible to cram all that graphical goodness into a current console. I don't think a face-off comparison will do justice to the differences between the versions.

Still, fantastic reviews all around. I wonder how CoD will measure up to that, and if it will sell as well if it is seriously out-scored by Battlefield. Clash of the shooter titans indeed.

Speaking of titans, any chance of a new Battlefield 2042 next?

Does anyone know why the downloadable version requires only 10GB of disc space, while the retail version requires 15?
