Darwinia dev tackles penal system.

Darwinia developer Introversion has announced a new game called Prison Architect.

In it, you "build and manage a maximum security prison", Introversion's creative mind Chris Delay told Rock Paper Shotgun.

No other Prison Architect details were offered.

Subversion, Introversion's other project, is on hold.

Introversion won worldwide acclaim with strategy game Darwinia. Defcon, Multiwinia and ill-fated XBLA project Darwinia+ followed.

These guys are brilliant, I love the idea already and presume it's be an evolution from subversion. That said, they do need someone to manage them a bit better. Herding cats springs to mind.

Shame, after six years of working on Subversion, they put it on hold for even longer. It was pretty ambitious for them to start with so I suppose I can wait for that. I've met them, they are a awesome bunch of guys and I hope they release more details on this game. Obviously this is their IGF entry and already the concept sounds intriguing, pretty much like their whole library of games as they all had awesome concepts.

@ID They did say at one point they were thinking of porting DEFCON onto PSN, but I can't see that happening now either however, it would a perfect game for something like the IPad, utilising the touchscreen controls, etc.
