    Looking forward to seeing a game that pushes current PC hardware and isn't just a port of a console multi-platform title, I am hoping that Witcher 2 is such a game.
  • Phishfood #2 1 year ago

    Golly gosh we won't be seeing this on the 360 then.

    Looking forward to this =D

    pleasant surprise to see devs developing genuine PC games rather than porting console games to PC instead *cough* DA2 *cough*
  • Goodfella #6 1 year ago

    I agree with the 'genuine PC game' sentiment. Hopefully Witcher 2 will deliver.

    Should we expect all the problems that came with the 1st at launch? or Have CD Projekt learned from before? lets hope the latter.

    Glad I'm upgrading next month. cant imagine my system handling it too well otherwise.

    These are very mild. I had GTX280 which is stronger than recommended 260 and I got rid of that for GTX560Ti with Sandy Bridge.
    I assume it will be very well optimized, being a PC game first.

    @ro-kukorai

    That wouldn't of been so bad if the game actually had some variety to it, doing the same sewers/caves/streets for the whole game was the biggest cop out imo and felt more like an add-on than a true sequel. Looking forward to this liked the first (although never finished it :/).

    Thats a hell of a lot of space for a 'click, click CLICK' combat system and the 2 swords you will use throughout the entire game.
  • darkmorgado #11 1 year ago

    Surprisingly modest. My two year old laptop easily meets the recommended specs.

    @StooMonster

    Witcher 2 is a PC exclusive, not multiplatform.
  • uknortherner2000 #12 1 year ago

    My PC basically meets or exceeds most of the recommended specs except for the CPU. I hope my i3 doesn't creak too much when the game gets going.
  • StooMonster #13 1 year ago

    @darkmorgado: I believe that you've failed at English comprehension. ;)
  • dsmx #14 1 year ago

    Those recommended specs are identical to my PC and for a bit of context my PC runs crysis 2 at 1600x900 at maximum settings at a frame rate of 30-40fps. As a further point those components should now would be well under 400 quid probably lower than 300 quid for those that think PC gaming is really expensive.

    Every once in a while a game comes along that makes me upgrade my system. The Witcher 2 isn't such a game. No, it is making me build a whole new rig. I've been wanting a reason to treat myself right and a true PC game sequel to the best RPG of the past 4 years or so is reason enough.
  • Mikeside #16 1 year ago

    this looked glorious at EGE, I really can't wait to get my hands on it!
  • cheeky_pete #17 1 year ago

    It won't be long before I can't get away with my crappy CPU any longer quick someone lend me 400 quid for a new mobo, cpu and ram.... oh I might also need a new PSU :(
  • YenooR #18 1 year ago

    The sooner this comes to consoles the better :))
  • djed #19 1 year ago

    quad-core, really?
  • Rack #20 1 year ago

    Hmm. My PC is barely above the minimum settings but was still able to run most games from last year on max. I'm not sure going from "everything at max with 4xAA at 1920x1080 and a smooth 60fps framerate" to "Can just about see the loading screen if you're really patient" within 6 months could be called "mild"

    It's a pity, I enjoyed Witcher and would have liked to have been able to play Witcher 2, but it doesn't look like it will ever happen.
  • WinterSnowblind #21 1 year ago

    I upgraded my system just before Christmas, mainly to play this game. (and GW2 but that shouldn't be quite as taxing). Good to see I can easily run it.
  • smurphs #22 1 year ago

    I've got a GTS 250 which has done me fine so far, but an old dual core E6300 which gets a bit asthmatic when I play some games (GTA 4 I'm looking at you!)
  • uknortherner2000 #23 1 year ago

    @smurphs

    Ah, but GTA4 was little more than a DRM-crippled, buggy piece of shit of a port that truly showed Rockstar's contempt for the PC crowd.
  • Apaar #24 1 year ago

    After the grand disappointment that was DA2, BioWare is effectively offering CD-Project the chance of a lifetime to completely and utterly steal the show when it comes to fantasy RPGs. And I'm pretty sure CD-Project will take it. This game should be absolutely stunning.
  • strangerism #25 1 year ago

    By the way I see, they aren't making a PC game or a Console game, they are making a `Game`. One that is capable to fully encompass, exceed nothing but their imagination, technical expertise and talent. Obviously the high specs PC hardware will fully take advantage of that vision.
  • dudefella #26 1 year ago

    Awesome. looking forward to putting my new Sandy Bridge i7 2600 and HD 6870 to the test. Well, more testing, Crysis 2 comes first!
  • sirtacos #27 1 year ago

    Fuck off spambots argh.

    Anyway it's probably a good thing my gaming PC crapped out on me. Otherwise, with this coming out, I'd never get anything done. Ever.

    This really is the best-looking game in development that I am aware of, might be the time to finally upgrade.
  • CaptainKid #30 1 year ago

    Quad core recommended??
    I can play Bulletstorm and Mass Effect 2 on max on my old AMD dual core, looks like this really is a PC only title.
  • TormDK #31 1 year ago

    Are we getting DX11 in this game btw? I can't seem to find much about it.
  • Danj #32 1 year ago

    4GB RAM in recommended specs? Does that mean we'll be seeing a 64-bit executable then?

    @torm
    sorry mate, the engine is dx9 atm, with no plans of including dx11 support. maybe CDPR will include it if customer demand is high.
