Rebellion working on NGP shooter?

Reworks internal engine, scouts for work.

Aliens vs. Predator developer Rebellion has a third person shooter in the works for Sony's forthcoming NGP handheld, and is shopping its reworked game engine to publishers in search of more work.

According to Develop, the British studio has modified its Asura engine to "fully support" Sony's new device and has a playable demo of an as-yet unannounced third person shooter up and running to show off the tech.

There's no confirmation whether the game is just a tech demo or will materialise as a full game, but the developer is planning to take its engine on the road in search of interested publishers.

"The technology, design and art teams have worked incredibly well with Sony's newest device," explained studio co-founder Jason Kingsley.

"We have managed to make our engine fully functional, and looking great on the hardware in double quick time. We'll be attending DICE and GDC to show what we have created and look for business partners."

You can see Rebellion's Asura tech in action in the aforementioned Aliens vs. Predator, as well as 2007's so-so The Simpsons Game, duff 2009 console shooter Rogue Warrior and PSP tie-in Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron.

Rebellion's one confirmed project is PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 action horror effort NeverDead for Konami.

I've been playing their rogue trooper game recently quite a old game but I've been enjoying it not as good as gears of war but you can see similar features you can even do blind firing with out going out of cover. but their games never seem to be 10 out of 10 games but they always are creative and unique. I'd not mind seeing another rogue trooper but more cinematic like gears and more set pieces too. avp i finished only the humans on the steam version i liked the game was also unique a different challenge trying to shoot them when they climb on the ceiling and stuff gets a bit frustrating later on though but it had potential like all their games do it just was missing something.

I really have to try and teach myself to not read NGP as "Neo Geo Pocket".

Well, I liked singleplayer in AvP 2010, but multiplayer was half-arsed for a number of reasons. Still can be fun, but nevertheless broken.

Not broken, just a little unbalanced. Enjoyed AvP although I'm in the minority it would appear.

I've the same problem. 'NGP' is already taken by a respected handheld console. It has to be changed eventually doesn't it? Next Generation Portable is not a good long-term name.

Could everyone please go back to calling it the PSP2, or maybe 'next PSP' until Sony sort it out?
