Swords & Soldiers dated for PC

de Blob creators' RTS spreads its wings.

The HD version of acclaimed indie side-scrolling RTS Swords & Soldiers will hit PCs on 1st December.

There's no mention of price on the Steam listing, but expect all the features that made it to the recent PlayStation Network upgrade of the WiiWare original, plus mouse control and Steam Achievements.

Developed by Dutch studio Ronimo Games, set up by the student team that came up with the original concept for THQ's de Blob platformer, the stylish 2D strategy effort coaxed an impressive 8/10 from Eurogamer's Simon Parkin last year.

Not sure if it fits the PC, but I hope it sells well. These aren't the best times for small independent (startup) game companies, putting it mildly, and that's a real shame for the industry. Besides, it's a pretty good game that deserves an audience.

Here in Germany it's on store shelves already. 18€though, quite a bit more than the 10 I paid for the Wiiware version.

but but isn't this game just a HD version of the castle defense flash games on all the free flash game websites?

If the games I've seen on the App Store are any indication it's different because it's MUCH better. There's actually strategy to it (especially the whole tech choices during skirmish).

It says on the German Amazon page that this game needs Steam in order to play the Multiplayer mode. So the retail copy can be activated and played before the game can be bought directly from Steam? I mean I can't buy it now on Steam.
