Telltale's episodic Back to the Future series will hurtle onto the internet in December. PC and Mac go first, with PS3 and iPad releases to follow.

You can pre-order the entire series now for $24.95. That price bestows a free copy of Puzzle Agent as well as donates $1 to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkison's Research.

Telltale has called on Back to the Future screenwriter Bob Gale to help bring the videogame storyline to life. What's more, actor Christopher Lloyd will reprise his iconic performance as inventor Doc. AJ Locascio will play the role of Marty McFly.

A series of Behind the Scenes videos are available on the Back to the Future: The Game website.

Im looking forward to this as im a big BTTF fan but I really need to see more of the game. The fact that it's out in just over a month and noones laid eyes on it yet is a bit worrying. Telltales great though so I hope they haven't lost there magic.

Oh and If noones checked out those making of videos, they need to. You need to check out the voice actor for Marty Mcfly. It's freaky how much he sounds just like Michael J Fox.

@CaptainQuint: not really ringing any alarm bells here to be honest. Tales of Monkey Island, Sam & Max, Wallace and Gromit, these were all very solid efforts by Telltale. I have complete confidence in them making this good.

@CaptainQuint Bob Gale has enough integrity for me to put my trust in this project, if he wanted to he could have earned loads on additional BTTF franchise stuff - but he's not George Lucas is he?

@CaptainQuint The reason you haven't seen much of the game yet is the same reason you don't see much of any Telltale games in advance; it's their unorthodox episodic production schedule.

They work on their games right up until release day, usually on different stages of about 3 episodes at a time once a series gets going. That means that for the last few months they will have been working on writing, story, recording dialogue and creating a lot of the major assets. Right about now if previous games are anything to go by they should be heavy into actually building the first episode.

Next month they'll be testing and polishing up that episode like crazy and there should be more to show for it. We'll get screenshots very soon and most likely the trailer will be about a week before the actual release, which is when review copies are usually sent out.

This has made my day. Introduced the kids to the films a few months ago and they love them. They've categorised the time zones as "when dad was a boy", "when gramps was a boy" and "wild west-long time ago".

The BTTF Blu-ray boxset, which was released yesterday, is supposed to contain a download code for the first epiosde of Tell Tale's BTTF game although I haven't received my copy yet so I cannot confirm this. Anyone know if that is true?

I don't think TellTale have a bad track record so I think I'll take the plunge and pre-order. How bad could it be? They'd have to try pretty hard to mess it up with Bob Gale etc on board.
