Brink will be released on PS3 across the UK this Friday, as planned - presumably without online multiplayer.

A question mark hung over the game's arrival following the continued outage of PlayStation Network. But publisher Bethesda will stick to schedule, unperturbed.

"We're still going ahead with launch this week," a Bethesda spokesperson told Eurogamer this afternoon.

Online multiplayer may be Brink's raison d'etre, but the game does also offer bots and a single-player mode.

However, with a full PSN restoration potentially weeks away, Brink console sales are expected to be heavily skewed towards Xbox 360.

Splash Damage's game will be available on PC, too.

Brink is a gorgeous, hyper-realistic and hyper-customisable team-based shooter. Eurogamer's Brink review will be published early tomorrow morning.
