Netflix pauses production of The Witcher season two over coronavirus outbreak

For at least two weeks.

Netflix has paused the production of The Witcher's second season because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Production in the UK is on hold for at least two weeks, Deadline reported. The pause could be delayed further.

As Deadline points out, The Witcher is the first major scripted series to be halted in the UK because of the coronavirus. It's shot at Arborfield Studios in Wokingham. Production crew were told they will continue to be paid by Netflix during the stoppage, Variety said.

The Witcher's second season was set for 2021 following the monster hit that was the first season. More on that over on the Eurogamer podcast.
